July in Portland is peak summer season in Portland, and we’re loving every minute of it!

It’s finally warm enough for the hikes we wait all year to enjoy, small concerts and music festivals are popping up all over the city, and there is no shortage of family-friendly fun!

It’s always so much fun to see our clients’ excitement at bringing their colorful visions for their homes to life, especially in a season where we get to spend so much time enjoying our homes in the sunshine from our backyards and front porches.

Your Summer Guide to Portland in July

Hikes, local concerts, street fairs, u-pick berry farms…the sky is the limit for summer fun in Portland!

  • The Banks-Vernonia Trail follows a 21-mile stretch of abandoned railroad bed, with a gentle grade in all but one area that allows hikers and bikers alike to enjoy the scenic mountains, fields, and forests between the cities of Banks and Vernonia.
  • A gorgeous expanse of scenic forests and gushing waterfalls, Silver Falls State Park offers an incredible way to escape the city on hot days! Enjoy a 7.2 mile loop with plenty of connecting trails and even the opportunity to walk behind a couple of waterfalls!
  • If you’re looking for an opportunity to hike amongst the trees on a hot day and then dive into the river to cool down, Oxbox Regional Park is the perfect spot! End your day with a stop by Sugarpine Drive-In for a decadent and seasonal soft serve treat!
  • Portland Parks & Rec offers some of the city’s most accessible and all-ages fun in their “Free For All” cultural events series. Movies, concerts, festivals, and other special events are held at different parks throughout July and August, and all at no cost! Enjoy music by local artists, movies under the stars, and cultural festivals with amazing food, all summer long.
  • Have you ever wanted to spend a warm summer evening wandering throughout a local neighborhood listening to local musical performances? The Porchfests in the Overlook neighborhood and Milwaukie have got you covered! Milwaukie Porchfest offers dozens of free performances on porches, driveways and public spaces over the last three weekends in July. The Overlook Porchfest features over 100 eclectic acts across 40 different homes, parks, and businesses the evening of July 11th and 12th.
  • Portland’s street fair season is vibrant and varied, with the Mississippi Street Fair coming in as one of the most popular every summer. N Mississippi Ave closes to cars all day long on Saturday July 11th so visitors can enjoy hundreds of local artisan vendors, musical acts, a barbeque competition, and dedicated family-friend attractions, no tickets or entry fee required. A perfect way to spend a Saturday!
  • While the rest of the US celebrates Pride in June, Portland is unique in celebrating throughout the month of July! The waterfront will boast a large and inclusive Portland Pride Waterfront Festival and maker’s market at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park the weekend of July 18th, and on Sunday July 19th the Pride Parade will make its way along the southwest waterfront. Come ready to dance, cheer, and celebrate in the sunshine!
  • One of the longest running music festivals in Portland, the Cathedral Park Jazz Fest celebrates its 46th year this July! From July 17th through the 19th, spread a blanket out on the grass and celebrate jazz and jazz-adjacent artists and bands at this free, all-ages festival in the St. John’s neighborhood.

“U-Pick” the Fun!

Berries and cherries and peaches, oh my! Just a short drive from Portland in almost any direction will take you to some favorite u-pick spots for fresh fruit – and July is the height of summer fruit season in the PNW!

Pro tip: Check the farms’ website to see what is currently available to pick before you head out!

After carefully masking off floors or areas not to be painted, walls and ceilings will have holes patched, small cracks caulked and primed before painting. Trim work will be de-glossed, sanded and vacuumed prior to painting so that the new paint will adhere firmly.

Weinmann Painting uses only high-quality products from reputable companies; we apply two coats of paint as stipulated in the manufacturer's warranty, making sure to protect floors and furniture from overspray and drips. Careful Clean-Up
Your Crew Leader will ensure that the project area is left clean at the end of each workday. When the project is complete, you will have a final walk-through with your Crew Leader to make sure that everything has been completed and cleaned up to your satisfaction.
